Goldstone rapport
Een onderzoekscommissie van de Verenigde Naties, onder leiding van de zuid-Afrikaanse rechter Richard Goldstone, heeft op 15 september 2009 het rapport uitgebracht 'United Nations Fact Finding Mission on the Gaza Conflict'. Hierin noemen de onderzoekers bewijzen van Israëlische oorlogsmisdaden tijdens het drie weken durende offensief in de Gazastrook, begin 2009. Goldstone zegt in het rapport dat ook Hamas oorlogsmisdaden heeft gepleegd door raketten af te schieten op Israël.
De onderzoekscommissie onderzocht de juridische kant van de oorlog. Dit deed zij tijdens zittingen in Geneve en Gaza. Goldstone beveelt in zijn rapport de Veiligheidsraad van de Verenigde Naties aan zijn conclusies naar het Internationale Strafhof te sturen. Hierdoor wordt het mogelijk om verantwoordelijke partijen eventueel te vervolgen. Israël noch de Palestijnen erkennen echter het Strafhof.
